USA beats Spain to retain the FIBA World Championship

The USA is golden again after taking down Spain, 77-64, to claim the World Championship. Maya Moore lead five of her teammates in double figures with 18 points, in a game that featured many milestones.

Moore was named MVP, and three other WNBA players were named to the tournament all-star team: Sancho Lyttle, Penny Taylor and Brittney Griner.

Before the championship game, other winners were decided:

Australia hammered Turkey, 74-44, to take third place. Not bad for a team missing its two centers, in Lauren Jackson and Liz Cambage.

The future is also bright for Canada, who used a 61-53 victory over China to secure fifth place - their best finish since 1986.
